The Oplita Greco di Tufo DOCG is a wine made from 100% Greco grapes that falls under the classification of Greco di Tufo DOCG, one of the most important denominations in Southern Italy.

L'Oplita is a Greco di Tufo white wine produced by the Altavigna winery in Irpinia, Campania. Greco di Tufo is a noble wine derived from an ancient vine, of Greek origin, imported into Campania and cultivated in the Naples area first and then in the Avellino area, near the nucleus that became the town of Tufo. The production area of Greco di Tufo DOCG is located north of Avellino and extends to the borders of the province of Benevento.

The grapes for this wine are harvested manually in the second half of October and fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. The must rests on the fine lees for about 6 months to give the wine complexity and structure.

The color is straw yellow with golden reflections. The nose is intense, with hints of thyme, fennel and flint. The mineral note is decisive with a predominant acidity. On the palate it is structured, complex and persistent.

L'Oplita Greco di Tufo DOCG is a perfect wine to accompany fatty dishes, such as first courses with fish sauces and second courses based on fish, seafood and crustaceans.
