Sul Vulcano Bianco is a white wine produced by the Donnafugata winery on Mount Etna in Sicily.

It is a wine made from 100% Carricante grapes grown on the northern slopes of Mount Etna at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level, where the volcanic soil is rich in minerals and the strong temperature variations favor high quality grapes. Carricante is a historic Sicilian grape variety from the Etna area where it has been cultivated for time immemorial, giving its wines a distinct minerality thanks to the composition of the volcanic soils.

Donnafugata Sul Vulcano Bianco wine has a straw yellow color with golden reflections. On the nose it is elegant, with mineral notes of flint, citrus fruits of mandarin and delicate tertiary notes of honey and hay given by the long aging. On the palate it is enveloping, fresh and savory, with a marked minerality and persistence. Once tasted, it reveals itself to be fresh and deep, with a remarkable mineral and savory charge, in a perfect balance that fades into remarkable persistence. It is an elegant, dynamic and captivating wine that fully reflects the volcanic land of origin.

Sul Vulcano Bianco is an explosion of Sicily in a glass, a perfect wine to accompany:

  • Fish and shellfish: Sul Vulcano Donnafugata is a structured and mineral wine, perfect for accompanying fish and shellfish dishes. Its lively acidity contrasts the sapidity of the fish, while its mineral notes enhance the flavors of the sea.
  • White meats: The wine also pairs well with white meats such as chicken, turkey and rabbit, especially when cooked with herbs and citrus fruits. The freshness of the wine balances the delicacy of the meats, while its aromatic notes complete the dish.
  • Cheeses: Sul Vulcano Donnafugata can be paired with fresh and semi-aged cheeses such as ricotta, mozzarella, caciocavallo and pecorino. Its acidity cleanses the palate of the fatness of the cheese, while its mineral notes enhance the flavors of the cheese.
